House music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I've been around club culture since I was young, but it was when I turned 18 that I really began to fall in love with the scene.
I managed to get a job helping out at a club night called Trinity, which took place every Saturday at the Chunnel Club in Vauxhall, London. I was handing out flyers, helping the promoter and doing whatever needed to be done to keep the night moving. I wasn't behind the decks back then, but being around that environment every week had a huge influence on me.
Where It Started
Listening to the DJs play, watching a room react to the music and seeing how a great set could completely change the energy of a crowd gave me a real passion for house music. I'd be out clubbing most weekends, discovering different DJs, sounds and venues. That passion never really disappeared.
It wasn't until the beginning of 2024 that I finally thought: why am I not doing this myself?
So I bought a set of decks and started practising.
Like most people starting out, I wasn't great immediately - far from it. But I was ambitious and determined to improve. I knew I wasn't ready to start asking promoters for bookings, so instead I decided to create my own opportunity.

Alongside a friend who had been DJing for a long time, I started a night called La Vida. The idea was simple: create somewhere I could actually play in front of people, gain experience and learn what DJing outside of the bedroom was really about.
That experience changed everything. Once I had played out properly, I was hooked.
From there, I started doing weekly live streams on Instagram. Those sessions eventually caught the attention of someone running pirate radio station ElevateUK, who offered me a weekly slot.
Building His Sound
At that point, I was still trying to work out exactly what kind of DJ I wanted to be. My sets were a mixed bag of Tech House, Deep House and Afro House. Looking back, that period was important because it allowed me to experiment without putting myself into a box too early.
While playing on ElevateUK, I began picking up a few smaller local bookings and, more importantly, started receiving genuinely positive feedback. Every good reaction made me want to push things further.
Eventually ElevateUK came to an end, but that unexpectedly opened another door. The person behind the station told me he believed in what I was doing and asked whether I wanted to move across to a bigger station.
Of course, I jumped at the opportunity.
FINDING MY SOUND
That station was Wk-end Radio.
Joining Wk-end Radio became an important point in my journey because I finally made the decision to concentrate on one sound: Afro House.
Something about it just connected with me.
The percussion, rhythm, vocals and energy gave me the feeling I had been searching for when I was moving between different styles of house music. Instead of simply playing tracks I liked, I started developing an identity behind the decks.
TAKING THINGS FURTHER
At the same time, I began networking relentlessly. I was constantly on Instagram, connecting with DJs, promoters, producers, clubs and anyone else involved in the scene. I wanted opportunities, but I also understood that nobody was going to know what I could do unless I put myself out there.
Eventually, that persistence led to one of my biggest opportunities yet.
DJ and producer DYJAK, who runs the music programming for Coral Beach Club in Croatia, gave me the chance to play there. I performed an hour-long Afro House set and loved every minute of it.
Going from practising on decks at home to playing Afro House in Croatia felt like a major milestone. More than anything, it showed me what could happen when ambition, practice and networking started coming together.
THE NEXT CHAPTER
Since then, more opportunities have followed.
My weekly show on Wk-end Radio has played a major role in getting my name noticed and allowing people to hear what I'm about musically. Through that momentum, I also had the opportunity to play for PARADOX at The Gallery Club in London - another brilliant experience and another step forward.
Today, I'm the resident DJ for Heist, a monthly Afro House night at The Glass House in Tunbridge Wells. It's a great venue, in a brilliant location, and being able to hold a residency gives me the opportunity to continue developing my sound while building a connection with a regular crowd.
When I look back at how this started, the journey has moved faster than I expected.
At the beginning of 2024, I was simply someone with a lifelong love of house music who decided to buy some decks and learn how to DJ. Since then, I've created my own night, played regular radio shows, performed at clubs in the UK, taken my sound overseas to Croatia and secured a residency in a scene I genuinely love.
There's still a huge amount I want to achieve.
The next step I'm considering is music production. DJing has allowed me to discover the sound that represents me, but producing would give me the opportunity to create something that is completely my own. I'm fortunate to have some talented producers around me, including my good friend DJ Cobracat, and I'm looking forward to learning from people whose work I respect.
For now, I'm continuing to play, learn, network and take every opportunity that comes my way.
I don't know exactly where the journey will lead - and that's probably the most exciting part.
